Uygongco Foundation Inc., Cargill work camp a success

The Uygongco Foundation Inc. (UFI) has partnered with Cargill, Inc. and conducted a Work Camp for the benefit of Hibao-an Elementary School in Hibao-an, Mandurriao, Iloilo City on November 16 - 18, 2013. 
In this Work Camp, the Cargill Team Asia, which is composed of different individuals from around the world, has willingly volunteered to provide Hibao-an Elementary School a non-flood vegetable garden and a furnished feeding room for the Uygongco scholars. They have agreed to team up with the parents and school administration to build these school facilities.
On November 17, 2013, UFI and Cargill, Inc. went to deliver relief goods to the province of Capiz, specifically in Maayon, Pan-ay, Panit-an, Pilar, Pontevedra, Pres. Roxas, Dumalag and Dumarao to residents that are affected by Super Typhoon Yolanda. Numerous donations have been generously given to the UFI since the natural disaster struck and have started these relief operations to send used clothes, sardines, instant noodles, linens, water and rice to Capiz.
The last day of the Work Camp on November 18, 2013 was the Turning-Over Ceremony of School Facilities to Hibao-an Elementary School. Cargill, Inc. also donated library books, insect repellent spray, uniformed shirts for the teachers, and a complete kitchen set for the feeding room. The non-flood vegetable garden and furnished feeding room will be used for the feeding program of the UFI benefiting 76 children in grade 2 and grade 5.
Those attended on Monday were barangay captain and officials of Hibao-an, Mandurriao, City Councilor Hon. Gonzales representing Mayor Hon. Jed Patrick Mabilog, Mr. Noel Panaguiton representing Congressman Hon. Jerry Treñas and representatives from DepEd Division of Iloilo City.
The ceremony ended with the Cargill Team Asia handing out ice cream to the children of the school.

To date, the foundation has already adopted 14 public schools spread around Iloilo City, Guimaras and Capiz which includes Hibao-an Elementary School./
