Steps of Rome Eat All You Can

It is not often that I go out and dine with family and friends but an all-girls’ dinner with my mother and sister is something I always long for. Therefore, we happily welcomed an opportunity to eat in our favorite Italian restaurant, Steps of Rome located at Plazuela de Iloilo.

It was Thursday night of June and Steps of Rome dished out their popular buffet “Happy Thursdays: Pizza, Pasta and Salad Buffet” for only P155. It was a packed night but we were lucky to find a table.

The pasta choices were penne, spaghetti, linguini and spinach fettuccine. The sauce options were Creamy Alfredo (combination of cream and cheese), Pomodoro (fresh tomato sauce), and Vongole with Manila Clams.

The pizza choices were Chicken Barbecue Pizza, Margherita and Pepperoni Pizza. Chicken Barbecue Pizza is a thin-crust pizza topped with generous chicken strips, homemade barbecue sauce and mozzarella cheese. It was our good reason to frequent the buffet table. Meanwhile, Margherita is a thin-crust pizza topped with tomatoes, olives, capers, garlic, extra virgin oil and mozzarella cheese. It is so light and delicious; it triggered memories of eating only Margherita Pizza during the time when religious reasons made me swear off meat (for a while haha). Yes, my vegetarian acquaintance, Steps of Rome has dishes that cater to veggie eaters. Meanwhile, Pepperoni Pizza is always a classic – topped with thin slices of pepperoni, fresh tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. This pizza always reminds me of the time when I stayed home for a movie marathon for two weeks while feasting on pepperoni!

The salad section was another treat. Diners had the freedom to choose their own ingredients from a selection of lettuce, garlic, red and white onions, tomatoes, ham, bacon, bell pepper, button mushrooms, croutons, tuna flakes, ragu (rich and thick meat sauce), and Thousand Island dressing.

EXTENDED UNTIL JULY
We thought the promo had to end along with the passing of the month of June. But, there’s so much clamor for Steps of Rome’s mouth-watering fare and their affordable buffet promotions, so, they rolled out “Heap All You Can” which happens every Thursday of July from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. You can assemble your own pasta and salad and choose from a wide selection of pizzas for only P145. (By the way, I just found out that the plural word for pizza in Italian, is “pizze”).

Since not all diners are free on a Thursday, Steps of Rome has spread out buffet fun for the rest of the week. Monday is Deliciosa – Eat All You Can Pizza and Pasta from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for only P99; Wednesday is Eat All You Can Order Pizza and Pasta with Iced Tea from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for only P129; and Weekend International Buffet every Friday (dinner), Saturday (dinner) and Sunday (lunch and dinner) for only P299. The weekend buffet features international fare including imported roast beef and tempura shrimps. Children aged 7 years and below pay only P150.

“We guarantee an enjoyable and unforgettable experience with good food and lots of laughter,” said chef Pauline Gorriceta Banusing who heads her team in creating Steps of Rome’s wide selection of great-tasting dishes.
