The world-class offering on August 24, 4PM at the SM Cinema 6 is for the city of Iloilo which is celebrating its 77th Charter Day.

Ballet Philippines was founded in 1969 by Alice Reyes with the support of Eddie Elejar and the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Every year, the dance company introduces the community to varied outreach and educational programs that promote love for music and visual arts.

Ballet Philippines boasts of over 400 excellent works and a repertory that is unparalleled in Asia. Their works revolve on Filipino folklore and social issues that reflect the Filipinos’ rich and diverse cultural heritage.

Meanwhile, proceeds of the show will benefit the SM Cares Housing Project in Concepcion, Iloilo where 200 disaster-resilient homes will be built for the survivors of Typhoon Yolanda. The construction involves 5,000 psi PR-case materials for the houses’ walls and roofs so that they can withstand a storm that has a 250-kph wind speed. The PVC aluminum frame doors and windows will be resistant to corrosion, discoloration, insect assault and severe conditions.

The SM Cares Housing Project started in Bogo, Cebu where the construction of 200 houses will culminate in October 2014. Apart from Concepcion and Bogo, the SM Cares Housing Project will be implemented in Ormoc, Tacoban and Palo, all in Leyte.
