SM City Iloilo hires 3rd batch of senior citizens staff

SM City Iloilo is now employing its third batch of senior citizens under its Senior Citizen Community Service Program.

Every weekend, these elderly staff work for 4 hours in 2 days and are given compensation in accordance with the Regional Wage Order plus 15% premium.

The staff are members of the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA). They are Nelly Barrios, Lydia Pido, Mary Lou Alicaya, Remedios Mendoza, Adelina Alavanzas, Teddy Gabayeron, Arturo Ninto, Wenefredo Manua, Wilfredo Hojilla and Jose De Los Angeles.

The program aims to empower and extend assistance to the senior citizens of the community. It also promotes the productive use of their skills and capabilities.

The program is under the SM Cares Committee on Senior Citizens Affairs whose advocacy is the elderly sector, a vital partner in nation building. (PR)
