GT Cosmetics goes global at 20

GT Cosmetics aims to go global as the Cebu-based manufacturer of handmade soaps from natural extracts and other skin care products celebrates its 20th anniversary June 28 of this year.
“GT Cosmetics products are beginning to have a global presence with our entry to the US and Canada. We plan to firm up our strategic position in the emerging markets of Asia,” said GT Cosmetics CEO and founder Engr. Leonora B. Salvane.

GT Cosmetics will kick off its 20th year anniversary with today's launching of the GT Essential Facial Scrub, a multi-crystal exfoliating complex with collagen and witch hazel extract that cleanses and moisturizes the skin.
“We believe that Filipino entrepreneurs and manufacturers can be globally competitive. GT Cosmetics is preparing seriously for the Asean integration. Come 2015 we will be ready,” she added.

UP Open University offers ASEAN Studies Graduate Program

The Graduate Certificate in /Master of ASEAN Studies have been approved for offering at the UP Open University starting the First Semester AY 2014-2015, which begins in August.  The ASEAN Studies Graduate Program intends  to promote regional and global understanding about ASEAN Countries from the perspective of ASEAN; increase the ASEAN community’s consciousness of its common historical, cultural, and regional identity; and obtain a balanced perspective in ASEAN studies.
The Graduate Program  is designed for post-baccalaureate individuals, professionals, educators, and practitioners and those who are interested, qualified and academically competent to pursue graduate level education. As the program is ladderized, a student who completes the Graduate Certificate may opt to graduate with the degree and seek admission into the Master’s program within three years of earning the Graduate Certificate with at least a GWA of 2.0.

200 DSWD program recipients get new cellphones from Globe

TWO hundred beneficiaries of programs under the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VI (DSWD6) were given new cellular phones and start-up livelihood capital by telecommunications giant, Globe Telecom.
Apples Evangelista of Globe Telecom said the partnership with DSWD6 is “part of the company’s recovery and rehabilitation assistance to survivors of super typhoon Yolanda.”

“Nung bumagyo, na-apektuhan ang mga malilit na negosyo nila. Ito ay tulong namin sa muli nilang pagbangon (Their small businesses were affected during the typhoon. This is our way of helping them recover),” she said.
The recipients come from Roxas City in Capiz province, and in Malay, Aklan. All received new cellphone units, a retailer sim wallet with P1,000 start-up load, 10 sim cards, retailer’s notebook and tarpaulins.
In Roxas City, all 100 recipients are beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program. While in Aklan, 89 are beneficiaries of Self-Employment Assistance-Kaunlaran (SEA-K) and…
