Mr. Phil’s Bistro Iloilo at the Atria

Flavorful food + good interiors + enjoyable company = great dining experience. I had these while dining at Mr. Phil’s Bistro sometime ago.

I could not help but admire its interiors. Miniature vintage cars are on display on the shelves at the bar. The walls are painted in earth colors such as brown, rust and cream and adorned with paintings of spices and herbs; sort of a preview of the interplay of flavors that's in store for us.

Sweet and tangy tasting Cheese Jalapeno Nachos 

“Wow” is an apt description for the food that soon arrived. We started with the oh-so-delectable Cheese Jalapeno Nachos, a perfect appetizer because of its sweet and tangy taste. At first, we thought it was uber spicy but the pickled jalapenos and pineapple-based sauce made it kind to the taste buds.

Finger licking good and lip-smacking Phil’s Original Wings, Butter Garlic Parmesan Wings and Honey Sriracha Wings 

Next came Mr. Phil Bistro's best-selling, finger licking good and lip-smacking Phil"s Chicken Wings which are served with bleu cheese sauce and dou cheese sauce. Dou cheese sauce came from a fermented bean curd cheese that has a somewhat sweet and salty taste. Meanwhile, the bleu cheese sauce has a powerful aroma coupled with a taste of cream and herbs.

Salisbury Steak 

We had Phil's Original Wings with sweet sauce, Butter Garlic Parmesan Wings that is garlicky and neither too sweet nor too spicy; and my favorite - Honey Sriracha Wings which is sweet, vinegary and with a hint of spice. “Sriracha” is a spicy and tangy chilli and garlic paste that hails from Thailand and made from sugar, vinegar, salt and many peppers.

Ox Tongue – succulent and creamy 

The entrees came next - Salisbury Steak and Ox Tongue. In each dish, the flavorsome and succulent meat is bathed with a generous amount of mushroom sauce. We also helped ourselves to their tender Baby Back Ribs with honey sauce. Other entrees include Baked Salmon, Pan Seared Salmon, Glazed Salmon and Beef Teriyaki.

Phil’s Original Burger - 100% beef

Mr. Phil's Bistro is also home to burgers made from 100% beef and sandwiched in customized brioche buns that are enriched with butter, so they are light and fluffy; they taste really yummy. Choose among Phil's Original Burger, Phil's Original Burger Double, Phil's Original Burger Triple, Shogun Burger, Bleu Cheese Burger, Phil's Footlong Overload, and Philly Cheese Steak.

We finished the gratifying meal with their best-selling dessert - Dunk d'Oreo with Vanilla Ice Cream.
