Gushing over Sweet Cravings

There was a time when shaved ice desserts came as a simple mais con yelo or yelo with syrup that tasted like medicine. Nowadays, these iced desserts come in fun presentations because, well, food is no longer meant to be eaten but also to be gushed over, take pictures of and posted to social media.

At Sweet Cravings which is located in SM City Iloilo Southpoint, some of them are towering babies that come in mason jars. They put in ice cream, colored tiny marshmallows and sprinkles, caramel curls here and there, nuts, mint chips, choco chips, cookies, superstix and more.

The health-conscious ones also have choices here, such as fruit and yogurt smoothies (strawberry, blueberry or mango) and tonic juices that are made of 100% fruit with honey, no sugar added.

They also offer awesome Grilled Cheese Sandwiches like Apple Pie Bacon, Banana and Ham and Sausage and Egg.

The place is quite packed during afternoons and mostly with millennials. Once in a while, one could find them posting their “hugot” notes at the Bittersweet Wall.

It is a fun place to be also because of its interior design that is akin to a child’s playhouse replete with tones of blue, green, cream and brown. Hanging on the wall are colorful posters of cupcakes and Frenzy Shake selections.
