Live Comfort Food: my top 5 scrumptious picks
The definition of "comfort food" varies for each individual. It could be a mom or grandma's home cooked dish. It could be food that changes one's mood from bad to good. It could be a dish that is so easy to prepare as the word "comfort" suggests. Or it could be food that keeps one healthy. Live Comfort Food can be all of these to everyone.
I go to Live Comfort Food whenever I yearn for these mouthwatering dishes: (1) Chicken Teriyaki with Mushroom Sauce Pizza, (2) Meatless Bibimbap, (3) Low-Calorie Carbonara, (4) Roasted Seaweed, and (5) Smoked Fish and Lemon Pasta. All their dishes are made from the best and nutritious ingredients.
They did not scrimp on the ingredients for Chicken Teriyaki with Mushroom Sauce Pizza. This healthy pizza is topped with a generous amount of chicken teriyaki strips, mushroom slices, olives, and cheese.
Low-Calorie Carbonara’s sauce is soya cream, giving it a light yet delightful taste. Surprisingly, it goes well with Roasted Seaweed which is available from the Live Comfort Food product display. We bought a pack for P65 and my niece started to break down the roasted seaweed into small pieces and drizzled them over the pasta.
Meatless Bibimbap is a guilt-free hearty serving of tofu strips in teriyaki sauce, sunny side up egg, cabbage strips and slightly spicy purple rice. You may also ask the waiter to put chicken teriyaki strips instead of tofu. Bibimbap is a Korean dish wherein rice is mixed with sliced meat, egg, and assorted vegetables.
Smoked Fish and Lemon Pasta is Live Comfort Food's unique pasta offering. The smoked fish or "tinapa" bits are crispy while the noodles have this slight citrusy taste that made me crave for more.
I made several trips to the buffet table for Smoked Fish and Lemon Pasta during the Live Comfort Food luncheon for Iloilo Bloggers. But if you order on regular days, the a la carte serving is good for 2 persons. Dishes at Live Comfort Food are meant for portion control because the restaurant adheres to the mantra that in order to live well, one has to eat well. (See more food photos after the article)
After dining at Live Comfort Food, we leave full, satisfied, and happy but not feeling bloated. That for me is the definition of comfort food.
