Taking good care of our teeth and oral health not only prevents bad breath, tooth decay, or gum disease but also prevents a host of other diseases in the body.

Most people fear going to the dentist. In fact, a US report from PubMed revealed that 36% of the population has dental fear. We wait until we experience pain before coming to the dentist and go through with the needed treatment.

Good news to Ilonggos, MetroDental, the largest dental clinic in the Philippines is here to provide us with a better dental care experience.

MetroDental's 20th branch is at the Festive Mall, Iloilo Business Park

"MetroDental promises Ilonggos a heartfelt dental care experience, leaving the clinic with a smile on their face," said Leen Chua, president of MetroDental during their opening ceremony.

Situated at the 3rd floor of Festive Mall in Megaworld's Iloilo Business Park, MetroDental is equipped with the latest dental equipment, including top-of-the-line imaging equipment and software.

They have rooms exclusively for reception, consultation, treatment (with entertainment LCD screens and speakers), surgery (hospital-grade setting), and sterilization (they follow a 5-step sterilization protocol).

This is MetroDental's 20th branch. Their first three clinics were established in 2010, and since then have grown to their present 20, including clinics in Davao, Iloilo, Cebu, and Pampanga.  All of their clinics are easily accessible because they are located in established commercial areas.

SPECIALISTS AND WIDE-RANGE OF SERVICES

All their clinics nationwide are staffed with over 50 full-time dentists supplemented by over a dozen of the country’s leading specialists.

"Our dentists undergo regular training in general dentistry as well as their chosen fields of specialization from leading trainers and institutions both here and abroad, ensuring that we constantly improve as clinicians and are apprised of the latest trends in dentistry," their media release stated.

Here is a list of their services.
1. General dentistry: dental cleaning, stain removal, fluoride treatment, and tooth fillings.
2. Pediatric dentistry: dental check-ups, dental cleaning, tooth fillings, tooth extractions, and special needs. Currently, the services for special needs are not yet easily available in their Iloilo branch, but it is possible to have them scheduled so they could fly in a specialist. This was revealed by their marketing officer DJ, who happens to be a dentist.
3. Missing a tooth: dental implants, fixed bridges and crowns, and dentures.
4. Orthodontics: standard metal braces, ceramic braces, Invisalign, and dental retainers.
5. For toothaches: pain management, root canal treatments, tooth extractions, wisdom tooth removal, and gum treatment.

MetroDental also offers dental packages and plans.

TESTIMONY

One of their brand ambassadors, singer Darren Espanto is a testimony to the effectiveness of MetroDental. He started with his journey to straighter and better teeth several years ago by using MetroDental's Invisalign system.

While he was singing during the opening at Festive Mall, I checked out his teeth and was amazed at how white and straight they were.

Invisalign, unlike metal braces, is a set of clear teeth aligners so it's not obvious when you are wearing one. It gradually and predictably moves your teeth to their ideal position.

The common complaint that I hear from users of metal braces is food getting stuck in them. Since Invisalign is easily removable, the wearer has the freedom to eat, chew and drink whatever they like. It is also easy for them to brush and floss their teeth.
