Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo, a vibrant hotel in the city

The vibrancy of Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo is unmistakable, starting from the multi-colored comfy and modern furniture at the spacious lobby to the bright-colored walls of the guest rooms. The colors, in a way, reflect Ilonggo’s personality - warm, fun, vibrant, and optimistic.

The lobby follows the "The Living Room” concept which allows guests to socialize as well as provide an intimate space for individuals who wish to unwind through reading or surfing the net.

The hotel's design is very modern with a touch of Ilonggo culture as shown by wall decors like the Dinagyang warrior's headdresses, an abstract mural with earth tones; and in the case of the room where I stayed in, the artworks of Iloilo City's Paraw Regatta.

It is a four-story and 199-room hotel. Her room was on the second floor where the two swimming pools and fitness center are located. The room has a coffeemaker, an LED cable TV, free Wi-Fi, and a minibar.

CONFERENCES AND MEETINGS

The hotel is also an ideal venue for meeting and social events. Their main function room's capacity is 100 guests. Their poolside is quite spacious, too and it's a perfect place for evening poolside parties.

The hotel offers complimentary high-speed Internet for unlimited connectivity during your events or stay.

SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES

Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo's operations take into account the community and the environment. Their hair-and-body liquid soap is stored in a refillable dispenser near the shower, thereby reducing the use of plastic containers that we end up throwing anyway.

Another sustainable initiative is the hotel’s use of solar energy. They will tap 500 kilowatts of solar energy to power their exit areas and lighting requirements. Their neighbor, SM City Iloilo has 2,904 solar panels that could generate 827 kilowatts of energy directly into the mall. Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo will have its own solar panels from Solar Philippines.

Then, they have a food waste reduction system that dictates how they prepare their meals - from purchasing, meal preparation to meal serving.

They use local ingredients only, make their own jams, make their own stock instead of using foil-packed food flavorings, use biodegradable packaging and use a vegetable-based straw (served upon request). "When there is wastage, it adds to the food cost. By making our own sauces and stock, there's no foil to throw away and it is also healthier," said Peggy Angeles, executive vice president of SMHCC.

FOOD

Speaking of food, Ani (Hiligaynon for "harvest") is the hotel's all-day dining restaurant. Also quite spacious, Ani provides a hip setting in which groups can meet overexciting food and beverage options. "We have a tapestry of favors at Ani which is sure to satisfy every palette," said El Zeer.

For the busy travelers who need to dash, there's Dash. It's a 24-hour convenient self-serve section that offers ready-to-eat choices that can be consumed on the go.

REWARDS

Guests and professional business partners can enhance their experience with Park Inn by Radisson by participating in Radisson Rewards, a global loyalty program offering exceptional benefits and rewards at more than 1,000 participating hotels worldwide.

"Apart from Radisson Rewards, you may also use your BDO Rewards and SM Advantage here. Our synergy with sister companies is one of the advantages of staying with us," said Angeles. Banco de Oro, like SMHCC and SM Supermalls, is part of the Sy Group of Companies.

SMHCC DEVELOPMENTS

The developments near the hotel are SM City Iloilo, SM Southpoint, and SM Strata - all properties of SM Supermalls, a sister company of SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation (SMHCC).

This is the third Park Inn hotel in SMHCC’s portfolio and is the first hotel under its licensing agreement with Radisson Hotel Group (RHG). SMHCC will also build the SMX Convention Center here as a venue for local, national, and international conventions. "It is our contribution to Iloilo," said Angeles.
