Crypto Cafe is a restaurant with a mission - provide good quality modern Filipino food that keeps local producers in mind, provide guests with an innovative dining experience and help consumers become entrepreneurs.
Crypto Cafe’s CEO, Mr. Rommel Acejo revealed that he learned about cryptocurrency in 2016 and saw the direction it is going. He and his team who are doing cryptocurrency business wanted to have a place to meet. “Since we were growing, we formally conceptualized Crypto Cafe,” Acejo said.
So, I did a little bit of research. Cryptocurrency is a type of secure digital money that exists electronically. While this concept is relatively new to some, there are now businesses that accept cryptocurrency. Some of them are Microsoft, Shopify, Expedia, McDonald's, Paypal, Tesla, Save the Children, Bloomberg, eBay, WordPress and Apple's app store.
Thus, in 2017, Crypto Cafe was born in Roxas City, Capiz. They have combined the stylish ambiance of a fine dining restaurant, the comfort of a homegrown cafe and the minimalist functionality of a business venue, providing an innovative dining experience to all.
Crypto Cafe is a modern Filipino cafe, restaurant, and bar for consupreneurs, with a vision of becoming a successful Filipino chain of establishments by 2025, opening opportunities for everyone.
“When we built Crypto Cafe from the ground up, we envisioned a place that's designed to cater to people from all walks of life. Our doors are open to everyone - whether you're a student, a parent, a businessman, an artist, a farmer, or a local or foreign tourist just wanting to try something new. Our purpose is to deliver a consupreneur experience - every client of Crypto Cafe is part of its growth. We give you the best customer dining moment while you make business with us, turning every consumer to be an entrepreneur,” Acejo stated on their website Crypto Cafe.
Acejo revealed that in two months’ time, they are ready for franchising. “You are invited to join us. Be an entrepreneur,” he said.
Located on the third floor of the mall’s north wing, Crypto Cafe SM City Iloilo branch exudes a modern Filipino vibe.
It was designed by Prime Builders Operations' manager, Architect Joy Denise Selorio. The interior design called “Pag-ulikid” won second place in the Academia Riacci International Design Competition. Everything about it pays homage to the Filipino aesthetic.
True to the design’s meaning “looking back”, Selorio stressed that as innovation continues, one must not be left out. “Our local producers and artisans can be part of the sprout, it only takes creativity to do so,” stated Selorio in Academia Riacci International Design’s website.
“We will be serving world-class Filipino dishes with a touch of Asian and Western influences. Our food is totally different. We have Chef Selorio who is so fascinated in making the menu which inspires farmers to grow more batuan and gabi,” Acejo concluded.
Meanwhile, Crypto Cafe’s growth does not stop at their Roxas City and SM Iloilo City branches. Acejo and his team are targeting 50 Crypto Cafe branches nationwide by the end of the year 2020./

MODERN FILIPINO FOOD USING LOCAL INGREDIENTS
Their great-tasting food, for one, ensures that local producers are not left out. For example, they make use of the local taro/gabi for their appetizer Tarotine. They also use the Ilonggo “batuan” for their Crypto Salad in Batuan Dressing, Batuan Otap Cheese Cake, and Batuan Cooler. Their adobo dish is quite unique because it uses the common Libas leaves which have anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties.“We will be serving world-class Filipino dishes with a touch of Asian and Western influences.
