Artworks have been time and again classified as representations of anything beautiful or meaningful, expressions of emotional content, and has shown qualities of some type or form.

“Purple Lullabyes” 2018 by Gina Apostol | Acrylic on canvas 19 x 23 inches Php 10,000

This, according to Melanie Jane Ausan-Tendencia, MD as posted on the Facebook page Prescription: Art For Healing.

"Art, whether through the process of doing it or viewing other artists' pieces, may help people explore their own emotional depth, cope with life stresses, boost self-esteem, develop self-awareness and awareness of people in the environment or society as a whole," she further stated.

In line with this, the UPCM-PGH Iloilo Alumni Foundation, Inc. will stage an exhibit that will help raise funds for the treatment of children with cancer.

Entitled "Prescription: Art", the exhibit will be held at the UP in the Visayas Gallery (Molo, Iloilo City) from November 25-30, 2019.

The exhibit will open on November 25 at 5:30 p.m. (You may purchase online, read more below)

It will be for the benefit of the Friends of Cancer Kids (Iloilo) Foundation, Inc.

FCKFI is a non-stock, non-profit foundation formed in 2007 to provide financial support for chemotherapy to poor cancer-stricken children in Panay. Currently, the group has 29 beneficiaries, with ages ranging from one to eight.
