Engr. Carmelo Pono of Carmen, Cebu started being a BDO Cash Agad agent in October 2016 and has since helped workers in their town by accessing their money easily.
“Before, these factory workers would travel as far as Danao in order to transact in an ATM. They would leave work at 5 p.m. and travel to Danao during payday. They would be greeted with a long line of customers at the ATM and some of them would wait up to 3 a.m. for their turn,” Engr. Pono said.
He added that his BDO Cash Agad store has also helped residents of neighboring towns which are located at least 15 kilometers away. The service has been a tremendous help, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic when Cebu’s towns were on lockdown. “There’s no need for them to go to other towns because they can transact in our store,” he explained.
Elsa Pardo, a BDO Cash Agad partner in Bukidnon, Mindanao shared that residents no longer have to travel to the ATM located 15 kilometers away and thus save on the P36 two-way transportation fee. One advantage of her store is that it is located within the public market area.
Both Engr. Pono and Ms. Pardo expressed satisfaction with the way the BDO Cash Agad team responds to their technical issues. “They are just a phone call away. The next day, their technician comes. They are accommodating,” said Engr. Pono.
Secure transactions
All Philippine-issued ATM cards are accepted in BDO Cash Agad and only accept the Philippine peso denomination. The transactions are secure because you need to key in your pin on the POS terminal or Pinpad, each transaction needs the issuing bank's approval and your card number is encrypted./
