Success lessons from football

Football teaches the youth how to be successful even outside of the football field.
To succeed in football and in life, Jose Ramon Garcia of the United Football League said three things are required: attitude, courage and motivation (ACM).
"We need to have a good attitude, the courage to play hard and do things even if they are difficult, and to be motivated enough to improve more," he told young football players coming from Barotac Nuevo, Janiuay, Maasin and Iloilo City during the ACM’s Football Tournament held last March 25, 2017.
One of these players is seven-year-old XandreiYlliane Benecio who noticed an improvement on his health when he played football starting at the age of six.
“His asthma attacks stopped,” Airis BelleBenecio, Xandrei ‘s mother told this writer.
Football also helped develop Xander's social skills and sportsmanship because of his interaction with his teammates in the 60-player ACM Football Team, a group coached by former Azkals player Chiefy Caligdong.…

Mango eating for all at ‘Patilaw sa Manggahan’

Enjoy more activities including booths in Robinsons Place Iloilo until April 7
About 50 kilos of Guimaras’ sweet mangoes were enjoyed by all during the second day of “Patilaw sa Manggahan”, a week-long activity hosted by the province of Guimaras at Robinsons Place Iloilo to give everyone a taste of the 2017 Manggahan Festival slated on May 11 to 22.

Those who ate the most mangoes won passes for the Mango Eat-All-You-Can Contests in Guimaras on May 11 and 15 to 22.
Mall spectators were also treated to a cooking demo by Rebecca Tubongbanua, owner of McNester Food Products, Inc. and Magsasaka Siyentista awardee. She shared how to cook Mango  Spaghetti using McNester’s Mango Ketchup. After that, everyone got a taste of the flavourful finished product.

Manggahan Festival 2017 is bigger, greater and sweeter

Summer time is here and so is the famed Manggahan Festival of the province of Guimaras.
The much awaited month-long celebration of Manggahan Festival 2017 finally opened witha grand caravan and launching program last March 31, 2017 at the provincial capitol.
No less than the Hon.  John Edward Gando, acting Governor; Hon. Ma. Lucille Nava, congresswoman of the Lone District of Guimaras and the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan  welcomed the visitors to the “home of the world’s sweetest mangoes.”
It was also graced by the mayors and municipal officials of the different towns; SB Member Marilyn Edang,  Nueva Valencia; Mayor Luben Vilches, Sibunag; Mayor Ninfa Gajo, San Lorenzo; Vice Mayor Cecile Gumarin, Buenavista and Ruben Corpuz, Jordan.
Public and private sectors joined the caravan to visit every municipality of Guimaras to show support to the upcoming Manggahan Festival activities. Through the event, the municipalities of the province also unveiled the schedules of their Manggahan…
