Ang Kamalig’s Oyster Bar and more

Ang Kamalig Restaurant now offers fresh oysters baked in different ways to give your oyster eating experience and a healthy dose of vitamins and minerals an exciting twist.

Three Cheese Oysters

Their enticing varieties are Korean BBQ Oysters, Fried Oysters with Aligue, Three Cheese Oysters, and Oyster Rockefeller.

Oysters are a good source of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), which are two of the three principal omega-3 fatty acids. They help reduce one’s risk for heart disease and relieve symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis according to the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health on its website. Oysters are also a good source of Vitamins A, E, and C, zinc, iron, calcium, selenium, and vitamin B12. Furthermore, raw oysters are known to be strong aphrodisiacs!

Fried Oysters with Aligue

Anyway, Ang Kamalig Restaurant also introduced their Chef’s Inspired Ilonggo Selections which are traditional comfort foods that were delightfully prepared by Chef Miguel Trenas the contemporary way. Using the freshest ingredients sourced from different parts of Panay, he dished out Adobong Manok sa Gata, Sinigang na Baboy sa Mangga, Crispy Shrimps with Salted Egg, Beef Rib Salpicao and Garlic Estofado na Manok.

Oyster Rockefeller

My favorite was the full-flavored Sinigang na Baboy sa Mangga which uses the world-class Guimaras mangoes as one of the souring ingredients. Of course, the sweetness that Guimaras mangoes are known for is unmistakable in every serving of this comfort dish.

Korean BBQ Oysters

My next favorite is Crispy Shrimps with Salted Egg. I’m a bit wary when eating shrimps but this time, I had a gratifying feast because I noticed that even if the shell is in place, they managed to remove the much-dreaded intestines, yehey! Wouldn’t it be nice if all Iloilo restaurants can do this?
