Metro Iloilo Hospital promotes a healthy lifestyle
World Health Day is celebrated in many countries every April 7. This campaign by the World Health Organization (WHO) aims to ensure that every individual will receive the health care that they need.
By celebrating this day, everybody is reminded about the importance of health care and self-care.
In observance of this campaign, Metro Iloilo Hospital and Medical Center, Inc. (MIHMCI) held several wellness activities in their premises last April 27, 2019.
Dubbed as "Healthy You, Healthy You", the activities included a cooking demo by Chef Carlo John Paul Diaz, yoga session by Nenet Naranjo and Zumba session with Zin Eugene and Fuzion Zumba family. The healthy snacks were prepared by Healthy Kitchen.
Yoga improves a person's cardiovascular, circulatory and respiratory health; and increases muscle strength, tone and flexibility. Zumba is ideal for losing weight as one tends to burn more calories in a short time, it also improves one's cardiovascular condition and tones the body. Both exercises are great stress-relievers.
MIMHCI is a hospital founded by doctors and it started its operations in July 2018. It's mission is to provide excellent patient-centered care to the community through holistic and evidence-based approach by competent, ethical and compassionate healthcare professionals.
It is the first and only hospital in Iloilo to have a computer controlled pneumatic tube system to deliver medicines, documents, and specimen to and from laboratories and nurses stations. It has a fully integrated computerized electronic health system. They also cater to outpatients in their Outpatient Clinical Care. They have wifi connection throughout the hospital and also have wide parking spaces for the conveniences of their hospital guests.
MIHMCI is located in Metropolis Subdivision, Brgy. Tagbak, Jaro, Iloilo City. Now, residents in nearby villages and towns no need to go to the city to avail of quality health care.
