Philippine Airlines connects Iloilo, Cebu and Los Angeles

Philippine Airlines' Cebu to Los Angeles flights that will be launched on March 15, 2016 is a welcome development for Ilonggos because they no longer have to travel for one hour to Manila in order to fly to Los Angeles. The flight from Iloilo to Cebu takes only 30 minutes.
"The plan stemmed from the clamor of our kababayans to have a flight from the Visayas to the United States. Many Visayans want to avoid flying to Manila, said Harry Inoferio, Philippine Airlines Sales Head.

"The route was also designed to make connections to our domestic flights," he added. The areas that will benefit the most from this new route are Iloilo, Bacolod and Tacloban in the Visayas; and Davao, Butuan and Cagayan de Oro in Mindanao because they have direct flights to and from Cebu.
The launch of the route coincides with the 75th anniversary of Philippine Airlines. Because of this, those who will avail of the Cebu-Los Angeles flights from March 15-31 will only pay 650 US dollars. That res…

Jaro archdiocese infocast to reach more priests, faithful

The Archdiocese of Jaro is set to boost its information dissemination campaign among its priests and the faithful in the province of Iloilo and Guimaras with the use of Smart Infocast.
The Archdiocese of Jaro Infocast is powered by Smart Communications that donated two mobile phones, two SIMs and an allotment of 10,000 messages monthly.
“We expect six benefits from the Smart Infocast,” said Fr. Joenick Territorio, vicar for Chancery Affairs. “First, this will make information dissemination easier. Second, it would enable speedy communication. Third, communication officially comes from the Chancery (sender’s name is ARC Jaro instead of a mobile number). Fourth, it enables up-to-date communication and evangelization. Fifth, it can be customized for priests. Sixth, we hope it is secure because there are certain information that we send only to our priests,” he explained.
Currently, the archdiocese has 200 priests who serve 2.3 million Catholics.

Signs when a child has cancer

Childhood cancer is curable especially when it is diagnosed early. Health workers are usually the ones who first receive complaints of ailments from indigent families in their district.
SYMPTOMS Dr. Lita Paclibar, pediatric oncologist shared the different signs and symptoms of cancer, as follows:

1. Weight loss, especially if it is unusual because the child is not on a diet, not exercising or is eating a lot.

2. Headaches that awaken the child. “We sleep in order to get rid of a headache. But when a headache wakes the child, that is not normal,” Paclibar said.

3. Increased bone pains and swelling, mostly on the legs, hips, and back.
“When a child complains of pain in these areas, have a bone scan immediately. Because if you wait for the tumor to show, it means that cancer may have spread,” she said. “A bone tumor is the most painful. The most common area where it grows is at the femur or the side bone. This makes the patient limp when walking,” Paclibar explained.

4. A lump especially in the …
